STATISTICAL ANALYST

 

PCC Airfoils, LLC/SMP Plant-Wickliffe, a leading manufacturer of investment castings for the Aerospace Industry has an immediate opening for a first shift Statistical Analyst

                                   

Responsibilities include assisting the Process Engineering Manager in achieving a 10% scrap reduction year over year by using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, Six Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables and their interactions that result in non-conforming product.  Responsible for using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables and their interactions that result in non-conforming product.  Lead and identify projects that will have high impact and/or returns to the organization.   Pursue projects and lead the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.   Work closely with the Information Systems department to ensure needed variables are collected, stored and accurate. Reduction of total scrap by a minimum of 10% on existing product in the first two years.  Continually look for ways to eliminate waste and for ways to reduce inspection and move toward SPC.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         A four year degree is required with a background in Electronics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related degree program is preferred. Previous experience with Six Sigma concepts is required.

·         A minimum of five (5) years experience applying analysis techniques to improve process control is preferred.

·         Proven success in process improvements using mathematical and statistical problem-solving techniques to identify process variations in manufacturing with many independent variables is preferred.

·         Must be self-motivated and require little supervision for the successful completion of projects.
